The company:

An internationally-renowned medical company is looking for a creative and dedicated Senior Medical Writer to join their team in Hong Kong. They have offices globally but have a large team in Hong Kong, focusing on medical content production and conferences. More junior and more senior candidates will also be considered for the role.

The role of Senior Medical Writer will include:

  • Creating intelligent and well-researched content for a range of different platforms, including digital, prints, and event solutions.
  • Producing content for marketing materials, including newsletters, symposium, highlights, slide decks etc.
  • Having a thorough and in-depth understanding of the clients' portfolios, and harness this knowledge to strategise and advise on marketing solutions.
  • Liaising and collaborating with key opinion leaders internally for symposia, roundtables, events, and other meetings.
  • Creating talking points to aid discussions among key industry leaders in expert panel meetings or advisory boards.
  • Editing certain medcomms content, checking their precision and accuracy, the grammatical accuracy and fluidity of language, and their conveyance of the client's communications objectives.
  • Taking part in, and when required, leading client meetings and conferences for proposal pitching, brainstorming new ideas and directions, and market planning.
  • Contributing towards general business development and account growth targets.
  • Brainstorming with the account teams on concepting and planning strategic medcomms solutions for clients, and then executing these to an exceptional editorial standard.
  • Working with the MedComms Editorial Manager in giving guidance and support to other medical writers.

A successful Senior Medical Writer will have:

  • Have a degree in the sciences (PhD, MSc), with a healthcare science degree as a bonus (MD, PharmD, BSc in nursing or allied profession)
  • Proven experience working in a healthcare communications agency
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to work both independently, and in a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision.
  • The ability to make complex medical content accessible to the target audience, distilling the information in an accurate and concise manner.
